What is hibernating within you?
We begin anew. We’ve just emerged from the darkest part of the year. The decayed fruit of last year’s experience is sloughed off, and we’ve traversed the night into the first breaking of the dawn, a thin, cool sliver of light guiding us forward.
But it is still Winter. The days are still short. The light is still thin. The world remains still, hibernating, incubating.
It is the same for us.
We may want to leap into doing. Move swiftly into a new creative project.
But our wisdom—universal wisdom—calls us: move slowly, listen, let things grow.
In truth, Winter has only just begun. Hibernation happens now. This, the early part of the year, is the most dormant. In NH, we are under a blanket of snow. It is 8 degrees. Even the ground is frozen. And so it will be until March.
What will you do with your Winter?
What is hibernating within you?
In Sacred Sound Circle, we’re embarking upon a practice that eases us gently into new life, balancing our impulse to move forward immediately, recalibrating us to the rhythm of the season.
It also literally balances our systems. Winter has the qualities of Air (named Vata in yoga’s sister science, Ayurveda, a holistic system of health): light, dry, cold and erratic. This practice creates a steady rhythm and systemic balance.
I’d love to have you join us and experience the energy, rhythm and wisdom of each season of the year.
